Photos: Police Arrest Nigerian Soldier Who Assisted Evans In Kidnapping His Victims

The sensational arrest of notorious kidnap kingpin, Chukwudimeme Onwuamadike aka Evans, has taken yet another dramatic turn as the police have arrested a soldier who was an accomplice of the ring.

According to Punch, Corporal Chukwunonso , with Army No: 09/NA/64/6317 is presently attached to the Nigeria Army Band Corps, Abatti Barracks, Surulere, Lagos.

A serving soldier of the Nigerian Army has been arrested in connection with Kidnapper Evans. According to Journalist Becky Madojemu who also shared the update, the soldier, named, Col Victor, confessed to have followed Evans for kidnapping in Lagos State 3 times where he Got 2million, 1.5million and 3Million Naira Respectively as his Share.

He was picked up by operatives of the Inspector-General of Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT) as part of the round-up of Evans’ wide network.

A Serving Lance Corporal in The Nigeria Army, L/Cpl Victor Chukwunonso with Army No: 09/NA/64/6317, Attached to Nigeria Army Band Corps, Abatti Barrack, Surulere, Lagos.
Native of Onitsha, Anambra State was Arrested by IRT today 23/6/17 at about 2100hrs in OJO Area of Lagos.

Cpl Victor Confessed to have followed Evans for kidnapping in Lagos State 3 times where he Got 2million, 1.5million and 3Million Naira Respectively as his Share.

Serious efforts to arrest remaining Gang members in Progress.

This comes after IGP Ibrahim Kpotun Idris called for the death penalty for kidnappers and their cohorts to serve as deterrent to youths nationwide.

Meanwhile, Evans reportedly threatened to expose more high-profile accomplices as the police ramped up their interrogation.
