A creepy ultrasound photo that appears to show a ‘demon’ watching over an unborn baby has gone viral.
The image, posted by an anonymous Imgur user, has been viewed over a million times in two days as internet users offer their various interpretations of the eerie photo.
It shows a foetus, which appears to be around eight-to-10 weeks old, and what looks like a menacing face with a naked body outside the womb.
An anonymous Imgur user posted the image of a friend’s ultrasound scan, taken in June 2015, later adding that the child had been born two months premature
The user wrote: ‘A friend’s ultrasound. When you see it…’ along with the photograph which was posted on New Year’s Day.
The ‘figure’ seems to stretch from the top of the ultrasound to its base and includes a face with large black eyes and a horn-shaped mark on its head.
The body then tapers down to what many people decided was a mermaid’s tale.
JosePhINCH was one of the first to spot the eerie face, writing: ‘There’s a demon next to that bean,’ while Manshottothemoon said: ‘Does no one else see the demon on the right?’
Other users insisted it looked like something else entirely, with Jackbos claiming the strange figure looked more like a deity. He wrote: ‘Hindu goddess n the right side of the image.’
One user claimed to see not one, but two figures invading the ultrasound photo, writing: ‘Oh my! That’s terrifying. I see 2 entities on either side of the fetus’.
Subtlemrs said: ‘I’m seeing a friendly mermaid. Everyone else is seeing a demon. We’re all weird.’
