Yuletide: Oyo NSCDC Deploys 2,000 Officers To Ensure Safety, Reels Out Emergency Numbers

IBADAN – The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Oyo State Command, has announced the deployment of 2,000 of its personnel to some strategic locations within its jurisdiction to ensure the safety of lives and properties before, during and after Christmas and New Year celebrations.

The development according to a press release signed by the Command Public Relations Officer, Chief Superintendent of Corps, CSC Oluwole Olusegun, who stated that the directives were given by the State Corps Commandant CC Adaralewa Micheal Akintayo.

CSC Oluwole in the statement stressed that Commandant Adaralewa made the disclosure at the Command Headquarters Agodi Ibadan on Monday while addressing the Armed Squad, Counter-Terrorist, Female Squad, Disaster Management officers, Agro Rangers and Under-Cover Operatives who were deployed various locations known as dark spots such as motor parks, recreational centres, worship centres and high ways to ensure tight security in the state before, during and after the Christmas and New year celebration.

Commandant Adaralewa however urged members of the public to be very vigilant and be security conscious in their various homes and environments, gave out some numbers to call in case of any emergency.

The statement further maintained that “In case of any security threats Commandant Adaralewa Michael has called on citizens and residents of the State to call command emergency numbers 08062384818, 08077513995, 09055533303, 08035383164 and 08058268164

“Be vigilant and security conscious anywhere you are and alert NSCDC near you while we as an organization would do the needful to protect the lives and property of residents in the state,” Adaralewa added.

Adaralewa, according to the statement, charged the officers and men to be disciplined, patriotic, and civil in dealing with the public as every Nigerian deserves respect devoid of humiliation and intimidation.

He called on all the Christian faithful to use the festive season to pray for peace in the Country, be benevolent and moderate in celebration.
